A Very Sad Day!
Well, yesterday we found out that my brother-in-law was killed in Iraq. He is Captain Stephen Frank of the 155th brigade. His platoon is Eaglehorse. He leaves behind his wife Laurel and his two year old son Alex. He was a soldier at heart. Loved what he did. What we've been told is that he and another Captain were pulling over a driver who was driving erratically and then the car exploded once they had it pulled over. Stephen was going to be taking the place of the other Captain who he was with, who would be leaving Iraq. This man's wife is due to have her labor induced today to have their baby. I am so sick of this war. Now it's taken part of my family! I wish they would just pull all Americans out of there and let the Iraqis fend for themselves. It makes no sense to stay there when they don't want us there in the first place. When will it be over? I ask for all who read this to pray for Laurel and Alex as they embark on a long hard road ahead of them. And pray for the rest of my family also as we grieve. This sucks so bad!

Where did Spring go?
Well, I think we have landed back into Winter. Skipped right over Spring, Summer and Fall. It's only 45 degrees here as I write this. We had a snow storm over the past weekend where we got about ten inches of snow!! Thank goodness it got to 60 the next day and it all melted, but come on!!! We were in shorts two weekends ago! LOL I guess I should know Michigan weather by now eh? Anyway. I went out to dinner with a bunch from our old Kmart store. We went to a Chinese buffet. It was very good. It was the first time I had ever been to a buffet. They had everything from chicken to frog legs, a Mongolian barbecue, plus a yummy dessert bar! Nothing much else new is happening.

FINALLY!
The tree is FINALLY all cut up and our yard is back to normal once again. Boy that was a job getting all the brush tied up! Other then that nothing much new is happening. Just enjoying the gorgeous weather we're having right now. It's supposed to be 82 degrees here tomorrow. Is it really April? We cooked ribs on the grill for dinner yesterday. Very good.

A Totally Crappy Day...Literally!!
I don't know what has happened with our puppy, but he is digressing with his potty training! Today he crapped TWO times in his kennel. Walked all in it, probably sat in it. What is going on????? LOL I am so tired of cleaning up after this darn dog! He was doing really good. I let him outside for like a half hour before I left the house today, and was gone for about a half hour also, and when I got back I had that lovely mess....The SAME mess that I had just cleaned up two hours before. Anybody want a fourth month old Basset Hound? LOL

BBQing Time
Today we cooked on the grill for the first time this season and boy was it good! I did pork ribs and baked potatoes. I love the smell of the grill. Learned everything I know from my Dad the master of BBQing. We had a really nice day today. Alton cut up all of the big parts of the tree and I bundled some of the brush while Dylan was sleeping. I guess that will be my daily task every day while Dylan naps. It has to get done. And there is so much! I wish the city of Pontiac wasn't so darn picky about how it has to be tied up. It's such a pain! I feel so bad though....I forgot to put sunscreen on Dylan and the poor little thing got burned on his face. Shame on me I know. It sure was a great day though!

An Uneventful Day
Didn't really do much today. Stayed home and did laundry. BORING!!! LOL It was a dreary and chilly day. The sun popped out around five. A couple guys from a tree service came to the house today because we're getting one of our biggest trees in the yard taken down. Carpenter ants have made it their home and have chewed it so much that it may fall soon. Plus there is a big branch that is hanging over the wires that go from the pole to the house. So I guess it's best to take it down. I really don't want to because it provides so much shade over the yard and house so that it stays pretty cool in the summer. Plus it's one of the trees that we have our hammock tied to. No more hammock I guess. We better be safe then sorry I suppose. Talked to another girl I went to high school with and she's planning on going to our class reunion so that's cool. I am actually able to concentrate on this entry without Dylan trying to type with me for once. Alton got home at a decent hour this evening so he's spending quality Daddy time with him. They are watching The Dukes of Hazard....Oh joy. Alton got the season two box set. We used to watch it every day when we were kids and thought it was wonderful, but now as a grown up it's the most stupid show that could be on TV. LOL I don't know how it made it more then one season. LOL Alton would love to have a car like the General Lee though. He showed me a picture of one in a car book for sale. They wanted almost $18,000 for it. Crazy!! Anyway, have a nice night!!

Something to look forward to.
Found out today that a class reunion is being planned for our tenth. I didn't think anybody was going to do anything since here it is April already and I hadn't heard anything. I thought they would have been working on it already. So that's cool. I hope all of the people from our clique show. It will interesting to see what everybody is up to these days. Hard to believe it's been ten years ALREADY! I am getting old! I talked to my friend Erika who lives in Colorado now, and she plans on coming so that will be cool.

A Good Weekend!
Well, it was a good weekend, but nothing much went on. Alton got the new addition to the shed all done. It needs another coat of stain though. The old geezer that lives behind us was out lurking Saturday night when they were doing the floor. Hopefully he didn't call the city on us today. Supposedly we were supposed to pull a permit to add the shed. Last time we built a shed the guy called on us too. So hopefully he kept his nose to himself this time! So now Dylan and I will have our own shed all to ourselves with nothing to walk over ( Like the lawn mower or four wheeler). Today turned out to be abeauiful day weather wise. I wish Alton could have had a day like this yesterday. It's nice and sunny with no wind. Although it was sunny yesterday it was kind of chilly and sooooo windy! Tomorrow is supposed to be even better so I think Dylan and I will be heading out for a nice walk!

April Fools
Well, today started off as a beautiful day. The sun was shining and it was pretty warm out, but now it's cloudy and dreary once again! Dylan got up early for once, so I was at the grocery store by 10 today. It was a little busier then usual, I think because of Spring Break. So I got the grocery shopping done and then the guy delivered Alton's supplies for the new addition for our shed. I was just on my way out the door when he showed up. He didn't mind moving his truck so that I could get out. I was headed to Kmart to find some jeans. I need a new pair of black. Think I could find any? Noway. The only kind they had were the stretchy kind and I hate them. So I was bummed. Got some new socks while I was there instead. I will finally have some without holes in the heals. Don't ya hate that? When I got home from Kmart I called Alton and pulled and April Fool's joke on him. usually I can't get him but I did this time. I told him that they didn't deliver all of his supplies for the shed. The only thing they brought was the stuff for the shed. He started to get very upset, but then I said APRIL FOOLS and he laughed. I guess it was the second time today that he was tricked! LOL Now Dylan is down for his nap and I decided to check out this blogging thing. By online friend Abby started a blog and it's pretty neat so I thought I'd give it a try. So here I am. Tonight Alton is supposed to be getting off at a decent time so if he does we'll make a trip to home depot to get a few things. Fun, fun, fun. Other then that we will hopefully have a peaceful evening after that.
