Kinda boring.

I haven't written all week because there's not been a whole lot going on. Yesterday was a little stressful though, because my father-in-law who works for Farmer Jack's found out he may not have a job soon. I guess the company want to get out of Michigan for some reason so another company is looking to buy them. Since they are Union there is going to be a vote to lower pay and lose overtime on Sundays along with other things. Well, the overtime is what makes it possible for my in-laws to make it on a weekly basis. So without it they are wondering what they will do. The vote is on Monday. Even if it doesn't pass eventually something will and they will be losing. I asked why are they wanting to take things away if they are going to sell and the reason is so that Farmer Jack looks more appealing to another company. If the employees have less perks then I guess it makes it more appealing for somebody to buy. If this sounds confusing it is! LOL I don't totally get it myself. So anyway let's hope that everything works out, or we are going to have houseguests living with us, because they won't have anywhere else to go. Not only will it be uncomfortable, but as much as I love the in-laws they will drive me insane. LOL

SURPRISE!!

Yesterday we had a surprise birthday party for my Dad. His birthday is actually today though. He sure was surprised!! I thought he had caught on, but he swears he didn't know a thing. We got him to come to my house to see my "supposed new screenhouse". LOL NOT! I don't even own one! This birthday was extra special since according to all the doctors he was never supposed to be on this earth to get to 55. The party turned out great, except for a little bit of rain. Just enough to mess up all the decorations outside. Then it cleared up. There were about 50 of our relatives that came. I was a nervouse wreck though. I just wanted everything to be perfect. Plus Alton was working so I pretty much did everything by myself. My sister helped some too though. It was a nice day!

Our family gets smaller.

It's amazing what goes on in one part of your family that is never told to the rest of the family. I guess my Uncle who is my Dad's brother has been having tons of problems for some time now. He had lost his job, so he was in financial turmoil. Didn't tell his wife anything about losing his job, so she thought everything was great. Plus I guess he'd been drinking a lot. He'd be drunk when my Aunt got home from work. And on top of it all he's threatened to commit suicide more then once. Well, Tuesday night he carried out his threat. He had been out on the patio at their house and I guess was going to do it there, but my Aunt got him to go back into the house. She called 911 and in the meantime my Uncle left the house. The cops caught up with him and he pulled into an apartment complex. The police told him to put his hands in the air. He did with a gun in his hand and then he put it to the side of his head and pulled the trigger. He lived to make it to the hospital but was brain dead. So they waited six hours to re-test for brain activity and there was still none. So today they will be removing his organs so they can be donated because he wanted that. It was on the back of his driver's license. Then he will be taken off life support. I guess my Aunt had tried and tried to get him to go get help and he wouldn't do it. He didn't want any of the other family to know about any of it either. It makes no sense not tell your family. The ones who will be there for you and give you help! It's so ironic too that here my Dad is fighting to keep his life and then my Uncle goes and takes his own. This is the first time I've ever known anybody who has done this and it is a very hard thing to understand. I know many people do this, but I can't imagine life being so bad as to want to remove yourself from this earth. In my eyes there's nothing that can't be fixed. I wish I could have known what was going through his head. So today I say goodbye to my Uncle Ron.

Date Night!

Well, Alton and I had a date night Saturday night! My grandma and grandpa watched Dylan. It was so nice! The plan was that we were going to see The Dukes Of Hazzard movie with Alton's partner from work and his wife. I wasn't all that thrilled about going with them, because they aren't exactly the type of people I would like to associate myself with. But anyhow. Alton got home from work and said they weren't going to go! So of course I was elated! So we went and had dinner and saw the movie. Dinner was great! The food was excellent. We ate at a restaurant in the mall right across front he movie theater called The Thunder Bay Brewing Company. Thunder Bay is in Northern Michigan fro those who don't know. I had a BBQ pulled pork sandwich that came with cole slaw and french fries! It was soooooo good! I loved the BBQ sauce they used! Not real spicy not too sweet! Alton got steak and mashed potatoes. He liked his too. The only bad part is that we kind of had to rush to make it to the movie on time. So anyway about the movie! SO DUMB!! This coming from a person who grew up on the Dukes of Hazzard series. I loved that show. We even own the season 1 and 2 DVD collections. But there was not much of a storyline at all. Mainly there were just a bunch of car crashes and a scantily dressed Jessica Simpson. So I would advise you to wait to rent it, or wait for the TV debue! LOL The worst part about the whole Dukes thing is that it's got Alton wanting to buy a 69 charger painted like the General Lee. Oh my goodness. Let's hope that don't happen!

Biting

Well, I got a big surprise when I picked Dylan up to put him in his high chair for breakfast yesterday morning. He bit the heck out of my back! I had called him a couple times and he never came, so I went into the living room to get him. I was trying to play with him, so I picked him up and slung hi over my back like a sack of potatoes, and he just decided to have a bite. Oh my goodness that hurt! It brought tears to my eyes. So I slapped his mouth. I don't know what it is with him, but he's been pinching and biting a lot lately. Hopefully this is just another phase like the screaming phase that he went through a while ago. The only stumper to me is that I'm the only one he does this to. He's never bitten Alton once. How does that saying go..Never bite the hands that feeds you? If only Dylan knew!

Busy Weekend!

Both Saturday and Sunday we had kiddy birthday parties to go to. The one Saturday was great! It was for Alton's bosses little girl who turned one year old. There was a Strawberry Shortcake pinata that Dylan loved hitting. They actually pulled the plug on it during Dylan's turn so he won the prize for "breaking the pinata", which was really nice. It was so funny! Dylan had a blast hitting that thing! Most of the kids were way too small to ever really break it open themselves so Reagan's Mom helped. And it wasn't filled with a bunk of candy either. The kids got bubbles, fruit snacks, animal crackers, and nutri-grain bars. I thought that was a really good idea. Dylan really can't eat hard candy but he loves all the other stuff that he got. Then the party Sunday was at a beach area. The actual party part was nice, but after that everybody went into the water and Dylan didn't want to have anything to do with that. Even with his Daddy he was terrified. The wind was blowing pretty good so there were small waves hitting the beach. I guess that might have been what he was afraid of. I even was picking up the mud and showing him how to build a sand castle, but he wanted nothing to do with it. So Alton took a dip and then we left from there and enjoyed the rest of the day at home. Every weekend in the month of July we had something going on. This month I'm hoping we can relax and not have to be running all the time on Alton's only day off. I can't believe that it's August already! This summer has went by sooooo fast. But don't they always. I have even seen winter coats out already in the stores. Not looking forward to that!!
