Weekend news

The news from the weekend is that there really isn't any. LOL I did have a girls night out on Friday, so that was nice. We went to a restaurant that had just been remodeled so we went to see the updates. It sure looks different. For those who live by me I'm talking about the old Orion House on M-24. It's now called Christi's Bar and Grill. The food was excellent! They have a much bigger menu now....Much more variety. They do still have their famous pizzas and bread sticks. We pretty much went there too just for the bread sticks. Then they come with a really good garlic dip! YUM!!! I want some now! Nothing really went on Saturday. Alton had to work. Sunday we went to Best Buy so that Alton could spend a couple gift certificates they he'd gotten for Christmas and his birthday. He got a Rolling Stones CD and a Dr. Dre CD. Yes, he listens to a WIDE variety of music. LOL I know those are one extreme to the next right? LOL

Today Dylan has discovered flushing toilet paper in the toilet. Before he would just flush the toilet and slam the lid down. Today while I was reading my email he decided to go in there and unload half of a role of TP and put it in the toilet. Then when he saw me coming he hurried up and flushed it! I thought for sure the thing would be plugged, but it all went down. Alton would have had a fit! LOL The last thing he wants to do when he gets home is more plumbing! But I guess some things just can't be helped right?

Ebay

Have you ever tried to win an auction on Ebay before? I have been trying to buy an item for two weeks now and keep getting outbid at the last minute! It is so frustrating!! Sometimes I wonder if the thing is rigged! LOL

Our Weekend

We had a really nice weekend. Saturday night Alton and I got away for a few hours. My Mom babysat for us and we went to Greektown in Detroit for dinner. We went to a place called The Parthenon. Greek of course. It was a neat place, but I don't think I would go back. They server an appetizer that is goat cheese and they light it on fire when they bring it to your table. I don't know how the waitstaff hold on to it while they light it! We were like five tables away from when they lit one and we could feel the heat from it! How do they have it right in their hand? LOL I ordered a Gyro sandwich, but I was so worried about telling the waiter no tomato that I forgot to tell him I wanted chicken instead of the traditional lamb. So I got lamb. First time I've ever ate that. It was ok as long as I didn't think about what I was eating. LOL After we ate we went across the street to the casino. I didn't gamble at all, but Alton played a couple slot machines. She won $18 on one and then cashed out. Big spenders huh? LOL

Sunday we had a nice day of going to the grocery store and then just hanging out at home doing pretty much nothing. We haven't had one of those days in forever! It was nice.

The weather

I have never seen so much rain during the Winter as I have this 05-06 year. It's been close to 50 degrees for the past two days too! You would think it was maybe late March early April here! We have no snow what so ever except maybe a pile here or there from the plows. It's been yucky and muddy for so long now. I almost would rather see the snow covering the ground! What is going on? LOL

2 years old!

Yesterday Dylan officially turned 2 years old! Where does the time go? He growing up sooooooo quick! Since we already had his birthday party we took him to McDonald's for a M & M McFlurry. We brought it home and put a candle in it and let him blow it out. He was very happy!

A good weekend

We celebrated Dylan's birthday this weekend. I had the family over for cake and ice cream on Saturday. His real day is Wednesday though. It was nice. I'm thinking maybe Chucky Cheese for next year. LOL I don't know though...We'll have to see if he ever gets on the mechanical pony at Meijer's first. I've tried to put him on it periodically and he is terrified of it. Then Sunday we got some stuff done around the house. I got a really nice wooden filing cabinet for Christmas, so I transferred all of the stuff from my rickety metal one. Got to burn quite a bit of old stuff..Like old tax documents, check stubs. That stuff sure does pile up quick. Then we got Dylan's new toy box in the house. It's been sitting in the garage since Christmas. It's so much better then his old one. This one has a lid so you can't see the mess anymore. Plus we got a few other repairs done to the house that have needed to be done for a while, but have been put on the back burner. Other then that it was pretty relaxing!

Crazy week

This first week of January has turned out to be a bad start to the new year! I have two Aunts in the hospital, my Dad hasn't been feeling so good, and yesterday my brother was on his way home from work and he was hit by a drunk driver and totaled his truck! What else is going to happen to this family this week? Thank goodness my brother made it without a scratch. It's just a bummer about his truck! I just hope that they will pay it off for him and he can find soemthing lese that he can afford!

Happy New Year all!

Can you believe that it's January 2006 already? I can't. In just ten days Dylan will be two whole years old! Hard to believe! Our New Year's Eve was pretty tame. We went to some friends of ours. Decided to spend the night so that we weren't putting Dylan and us in danger by driving home at 1am with all the drunks on the road. Needless to say we didn't get to bed until almost 2 am to begin with and then Dylan woke up and wouldn't go back to sleep. He did not want to sleep in a pack and play I guess. I kept laying him back down and winding up his musical bear, but it didn't work. And OF COURSE Alton is sleeping like a baby through all of this! So finally I woke him up and told him lets go home, but he didn't want to do that. So Alton put Dylan in bed with us. He fussed around and wanted to play. About daybreak he finally decided to fall asleep. So we did get a couple hours if Z's in. What a mess. Never again! So we got up and came home just long enough to unload the car and then we were off again. We went to Alton's parents house for lunch to celebrate Alton's Dad's birthday. Came home after that and tried to get Dylan to take a nap. You would think after being up most of the night he would be dead tired. NOT! He wailed for about a half hour until I gave in and got him up. I am praying he don't do that when we put him down for the night. We had a little burst of energy so we took down the Christmas tree. I'm glad that's done. Tomorrow I will get the rest of the decorations down. I still have lights in the windows and a few other things. Shouldn't take too long. Then the house will be back to normal. I can't wait.
