Funny

Yesterday I took my Dad to his eye doctor appointment so he could get some new glasses. He hasn't had a new pair in six years according to his chart there! It was so funny though. I was trying to get him to get a different kind of frame then what he already had. He was trying on all these weird frames. It was hilarious. In the end though he ended up getting something pretty much the same as what he already had. They are a different color though so there is some change. LOL

Have you ever had a day where you significant other is just being out of the way nice? Well, I had one of those days with Alton yesterday. It was one of those rare days where he was actually home before 8:00 in the evening. He got home by 6:30...I didn't even have dinner done yet. Well, while I was finishing up dinner he wanted to get in the shower....so I dais go for it, but take Dylan in with you so I don't have to give him his bath later....Usually there's some complaining when that is asked of Alton...Not one word last night. He just said ok and preceded to get Dylan all excited about getting his bath. THEN, after the bathing was done he helped me put dinner on the table. Usually he will just sit down and wait while I get the dinner plus Dylan and my drink and the bib and all that stuff. He helped so much!!! It was very strange! Not that I'm complaining or anything! It was great! It just makes me wonder if there's some ulterior motive here. LOL

11-28-05

Would you believe it got to 62 degrees today? Here it is almost December and it's 62. CRAZY! I don't ever remember a time when we've had such a nice Fall season. Unfortunately it's not going to stick around. It's only supposed to get to 47 tomorrow. Oh well. Didn't do anything fun today. I washed all of our bedding...yee haw!! LOL Actually I'll be saying that when I get into the bed tonight. I love the feeling of clean sheets and blankets. Weird? It's just the best! And it smells so good too! The only bad thing is that it took ALL day to do. Takes forever for the thick blankets and pillows to dry. Oh ya I forgot to put this in my previous entries....My cousin put highlights in my hair on Friday. It looks so good! It's kind of a carmel-blondish color. I had been wanting to have it done for so long, but I just didn't want to pay out the $80 to get it done. She lives in Grant, MI and my Aunt, Uncle and her were down for Thanksgiving and she said she would do it so I took her up on it. She's going through cosmetology school now. Alton sure was surprised! He loves it though! So thanks again to you Heather!! I really appreciate it!

A great Turkey day!

Well, as usual the food was delicious on this Thanksgivng Day! And I'm sure we all ate way too much. The dessert I made called Cafe Ladyfingers was a big hit. If anyone wants the recipe let me know. It's sort of like Tiramisu. YUMMY! Well, hope everybody else had as good a day as I did!

Happy Thanksgiving!

I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving! We will be spending it with family. Today we are getting our first snow storm of the season. We are supposed to get one to three inches. The roads are wet right now and there is a little starting to accumulate on the cement, but really I think it will melt. It was kind of funny. When I let the dog out this morning it was snowing already. He got on top of the picnic table and was barking and nipping at the snow. It was so funny! That dog drives me crazy most of the time, but he was so cute when he was doing that!

A new name for Dylan

We've decided that Dylan's new name should be MIMIC. This child repeats and does everything that we do as of the weekend. When anybody clears their throat, coughs, sneezes, or laughs he does the exact same thing! The first time that he did it I thought he was crying. This was his imitation of me sneezing. He uses a really high pitched voice so that's why I thought he was crying. But he bends from his waist over as far as he can....that's when the loud noise starts.....then as he's coming back up he's got his hand over his mouth and does the fake sneeze. It's really hard to get how funny it is from me telling it the way I am. I wish everybody could see him. It's hilarious! My kid is such a ham!!!

Criminals from Pontiac??

This is unbelievable really. Never in my life have I been pulled over by a police officer, but that changed this week. My day was going as normal as usual. It was a rainy and dreary day, so I thought it might be nice to get out of the house and go to the dollar store to see if they had any Thanksgiving decorations left, since I only have one turkey that hangs on my front door and a few window clings. Well, I ended up finding one decoration so we left. Since we were out and near the road that would take us to where we used to live in Davisburg I thought we would drive by our old place. It's a nice drive and I like going out there anyhow. So Dylan and I were driving along minding our own business. Well, we came around a curve and there was an Oakland County sheriff waiting to pull onto the road that we were going on. I was hoping he would pull out before I got to him, but unfortunately he didn't. He chose to pull out behind us. So because I knew he was following me I was very careful to go the exact speed limit. Once you go up the road a ways it goes from 50 to 35 MPH. I ALWAYS get paranoid when there is a cop behind me as do most people, so I figured I would turn off onto this side road to let him pass me then, I would continue on my way. Well, I turned and then I was looking in the the rear view mirror waiting for him to go by. Well, it ended up that he followed me. Then two seconds later he had his lights on pulling me over. I was so freaking out!! The only thing I could think of was that he saw something wrong with my car, since I knew I didn't break any laws. So he comes up and asks for my license and all that good stuff. Then he says "Don't you live in Pontiac?" I said "Yes". So he says "What are you doing out here?" For those of you who don't know the area Davisburg is only like a 20 minute drive from Pontiac. I said I used to live out here and I was just going to go by my old place. The whole while I was thinking.....is it a crime to drive into another city and I didn't know it? But of course I didn't have the nerve to say that! So he says "What year is your car?" I said 2004. He says oh I thought it was newer than that. I'm thinking what does it matter! So he says I just thought it was a little strange that someone from Pontiac is way out here. Then he says I guess you two don't LOOK like burglars. Then he asked if I picked Dylan up hitch hiking....He thought that was funny! I just couldn't believe this was all happening. He was an older man, so maybe he was bored and wanted something to do....I don't know. Later on I was thinking thank goodness this guy was honest and not one of those people impersonating a police officer, because I was on a deserted dirt road where nobody would have heard a thing or seen a thing. My one friend told me I should call and find out what was really going on and why he really pulled me over. My Dad said maybe there was a car like mine stolen from Pontiac and he thought I was trying to hide out with the stolen car. I don't know but it was weird! What a day. I guess I'll have to stay in Pontiac where I live. NOT!!! LOL

Another windy Sunday!

We've been under a wind advisory all day again today. We haven't lost power yet...knock on wood....like we did two Sundays ago. Hopefully our luck continues. It was warm enough for Dylan and I to play outside for a while today. Alton got called into work unfortunately. Some Big Boy was messed up and didn't have any working bathrooms. He was bummed that he had to go. My car is actually parked in the garage as we speak! LOL The drive way has be asphalted and everything is out of the way and my car gets to spend its first night inside. I'm so happy. We had dinner at my Grandma's tonight with my Mom and Dad and sister. It was nice. Other then that nothing too exciting has been going on. That's a good thing!
