Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween everybody! We hope you have a really fun night tonight trick-or-treating! Dylan is going as a cute little cow. We had a really nice day yesterday! It was almost 65 degrees! A beautiful fall day, so we went to the Cider Mill! The cider and doughnuts were yummy as always! Dylan had his first pony ride. I never in a million years thought he was going to stay on the pony, but he LOVED it! He had the biggest smile on his face! Every time we go to the grocery store and he sees the pony in the lobby and he points to it like he wants to ride, but then I put the penny in and he wants right off. After that we went to lunch, came home put away some things for the winter, ate dinner and then carved out pumpkins. Last year all Dylan did was cry when we tried to get him to help clean out the pumpkins, but this year he was willing to help. He didn't want to get his hands dirty though! LOL He kept putting the spoon in thinking he was helping, but every time the spoon came out there was nothing on it! LOL We had fun though!

Update on my Dad

Well, my Dad was told he would come home today, but then they decided differently. I guess while he is at the hospital they might do the skin graphs on his old bed sores that have never healed up. It will be such a blessing if they get him in to do it! Other then that he is doing very good. Feels much better, but is anxious to get out of the hospital. Thanks for all your thoughts and prayers!

A scare.

We had a scare with my Dad over the weekend. Earlier in the week he had said his back was bothering him, and all I could think of was that the cancer is growing. Well, Sunday he was feeling fine in the morning, so he and my Mom rode with my cousin up to his Mom's house. Well, while they were there my Dad kept sleeping on and off and then he slept most of the way home. It's about an hour drive. They were no sooner in the door and had his coat off of him that the vomited all over. Then he started talking off the wall about weird things. My Mom took his temperature and it was 104 degrees. So then she was really worried. So, she called my Uncle who is a nurse to get his advice and also the Hospice nurses that had taken care of him before. Both pretty much said the same thing....That they should get my Dad to a hospital and that it sounded like some kind of infection somewhere. So come to find out he has a really bad urinary tract infection and the wound on his heel that has never healed fully might be infected. At first they thought he might have diverticulitis (sp). That would have been really bad, because sometimes that has to be corrected with surgery and that's the last thing my Dad needs. So he is still in the hospital. His fever is down and they have ruled out the diverticulitis, so that's good. He's hoping to come home tomorrow, but who knows what will happen.

Fall Cleaning?

Is there such a thing as Fall Cleaning? Like Spring Cleaning? LOL Well, I had a Fall cleaning day today. I had started out just dusting, but then I just didn't want to stop. I got me a bucket and water with some Murphy's Oil Soap and ended up washing all four of our ceiling fans off, all of my shelves and pictures and then the computer desk. My oh my was my water black after that! I guess I never realized that there could be so much dust on a ceiling fan after it had been moving all summer long! LOL Doing those were a bit of a challenge with Dylan into everything as usual. With me being up on a chair to reach the fans he knew I would have to keep getting up and down, so I think he was being extra curious. I was waiting for him to pull the bucket of water over when I wasn't looking, but thank goodness that never happened! After the cleaning spree Dylan took his nap and I got some reading time in!

My 10 year class reunion

Saturday Alton and I went to my 10 year high school reunion! We had a really good time! Alton wasn't all that excited about going, but there turned out to be some people there that he knew from the two years that he went to Pontiac northern. They combined the two high schools together for the reunion. It was nice! There were people who never gave me the time of day while we were in school coming up and asking how I was and what I was doing right now and giving me hugs! Amazing! Everybody looked pretty much the same except for a couple. There was this one girl who was a total tomboy in school. She used to be a little chunky and had really short hair. When I first saw her I couldn't place who she was. Then it dawned on me who she was. Now, she is very thin with long hair. And she was dressed in a pink skirt and blouse with very high heels! I was so shocked that it was her! LOL There were a couple of girl that I had hoped would be there that weren't, so that was a bummer. Then after we left the reunion another couple and us went to a restaurant/bar to meet up with my brother and my cousin and their group of people. Needless to say I had a little too much to drink and ended up paying for it the next day! It was a blast though! I'm really glad that I decided to go. They say they will have another one in five years. I hope they do!

Summer gone?

Well, I wonder if today was the last day of warm weather we will have until next year. Earlier int he day when I was online my weatherbug temp was 77 degrees now it's 61. Sure did cool off fast! The weather men were actually right this time. I wonder if this week was our Indian summer. It sure was nice! Today was pretty uneventful with exception of me taking my dad to get his prescription filled and to get a referral for a doctors appointment that he has next week. Other then that it was just a normal day!

Garage building--How Cool!

As of today we have a garage!!! It's so exciting! I couldn't believe it, but the builders showed up at 7:30 am and were gone by 3:30pm! They had it up in no time! Tomorrow they are supposed to roof it and put the siding on. Then all that's left is the garage doors and openers. Alton loves it to death. He hasn't even came in the house from work yet and he's been home almost two hours. He's got his truck lights shining on it looking at it! LOL He's wanted this garage for sooooo long! It will be so nice this winter not having to scrape snow and ice of the car!

End of Vacation

Well, today is the last day of Alton's vacation. It's been so nice having him home all week! It's been a very eventful week too. We got the garage started, we got a new truck, and my Dad drove for the first time today, just to name a few things. That was a sight to see!! Back to the ol' grind tomorrow. YUCK!
