As the days fly by......

Where to start....Lets see......Well, yesterday my Dad had a major surgery. He's been in the hospital for almost a month while the doctors were trying to figure out what to do. He was told to go in because he was losing all feeling in his legs. He couldn't even walk. So he was admitted and has been there ever since. FINALLY they figured out that the cage that he had in his back from the very first surgery that he had close to 4 years ago had detached from the bone that it was connected to. So it was just flopping around in there. Apparently it tore a lining that is around the spinal cord causing spinal fluid to leak. We were told it was a very risky surgery and he may not make it off the operating table. But that goes with any surgery really. And if he didn't do the surgery he would be bed ridden for the rest of his life because he would HAVE to have limited movement so that the cage didn't ruin anything else in his back. So he wanted to do it. He's still in ICU right now and will be for a while. He's not fully awake yet. Now if he can just stay away from infection we will be doing good.

Today Dylan took his first field trip with school. They went to an area farm. They had a tour, a hayride, a walk on a trail, and they all got a pumpkin. They were also able to milk a cow, but Dylan wouldn't have anything to do with that. LOL My sister actually went along with them since I couldn't. I had to go to my first court date today, which was a total waste of time. But we won't go into that. I'll just say that everything should be over very soon if all goes according to plan.

Dylan is still getting used to going to school every day. Each day when we pull into the driveway he says I don't like this school. Today he kind of teared up a little because he didn't want me to leave. It makes me feel soooooo sad! I wish he could learn to like it! I ask him why he don't and he just says I don't know. I would try another one, but this one is right on my way to work, and it's the cheapest. Plus he gets Bible class which none of the others I checked out do that since they are not in a church. So hopefully down the road he will get over me leaving. I know it's taking a lot of adjusting after being home all day with me for three years. Poor guy!
